SEO is worth nothing!

Is all our SEO-work worth nothing? Well at least there’s a guy on this blog, that means the future SEO is worth ZERO!

The theory is based on the point that google is looking more at the data provided by their toolbar, user history and Google analytics, than they are looking on a tag line, tittle or bold text.

Quote:

From my experiences I am seeing Google SERPS results strongly influenced by Google Toolbar data, Google User history, and Google Analytics data. Googles combination of SEO and social voting via toolbar/history/analytics will continue to sway more in the realm of social voting. I feel this technology will only get better. So in my opinion there just is no future in current SEO for Google anyway. Its not going to happen overnight but it is happening.

How to avoid duplicate content

I found this video, that explains in a good way how to avoid duplicate content. A very bad thing for any homepage is if they have dublicate content. See google’s definition on duplicate content bellow:

What is duplicate content?
Duplicate content generally refers to substantive blocks of content within or across domains that either completely match other content or are appreciably similar. Most of the time when we see this, it’s unintentional or at least not malicious in origin: forums that generate both regular and stripped-down mobile-targeted pages, store items shown (and — worse yet — linked) via multiple distinct URLs, and so on. In some cases, content is duplicated across domains in an attempt to manipulate search engine rankings or garner more traffic via popular or long-tail queries.

Busby SEO Challenge

I found this challenge, where the goal is to get the phrase Busby SEO Challenge ranked at the top of google. The last few days I’ve been reading a lot about SEO, ranking, how to optimize a blog, etc.

Therefor I’ve decided to take the challenge. The next to days I will try to get this blog as high as possible on google with the phrase Busby SEO Challenge. When this is said, I’m not really in the compatition, because when I try to registre on their homepage, it gives me an error. But I’ll try anyway because, who knows it might give some visitors 😉

You can read more about the Busby SEO Challenge on their homepage. By the way this homepage is number one at this very moment.

Witch websites to ping?

Ping your blog!

I’m trying to figure witch websites to ping. It seams TECHNORATI and GOOGLE is the two best for this blog.
When you ping a website about your blog, it simply means that you let the website know that you have something new to tell. After pinging the website it crawls your blog and then includes your new blog post in their directory.

If you’re a “newbie” here’s a quick-guide how to ping relevant websites fast and easy:

  1. Go to Ping-O-Matic
  2. Enter your blog URL
  3. Select relevant websites to ping

And thats how easy you ping websites like technorati about your blog.

Is wordpress themes important?

In my quest to get 2000 visitors to my blog ASAP, I was wondering about the wordpress themes. I’m wondering if the theme itself helps to increase search engine rankings?

If I blindly should believe the following sites it sure does!

I would really like opinions on this. So please leave a comment if you have experience or a meaning on this topic.

And if themes really does matter on SEO, please leave links to good themes!
